• Semester One;

    In this course students are required to develop skills in performing and appreciation. Performance skills include the understanding of basic theory and its application to the keyboard and practical activities. Music appreciation is experienced through exploring forms of and elements of orchestral and contemporary music.

    Term One focuses on Instruments of the Orchestra, basic theory and keyboard performance.  Term Two Focuses on music theory and appreciation.  Students will participate in a "Performance Day" towards the end of the semester where they will perform their keyboard piece for the class.

    Semester Two

    In this course students are required to develop skills in performing and appreciation.     Term 3 focuses on Rock Music - Elements and Styles and you will complete research in the history of Rock Music, create your own Rock Band and learn to play simple rock beats on the drums.
